It's Fall,
ya'll!
I am here to get your season off to a great start by sharing my favorite Autumn recipe with you. It really is the best ever, that's a fact that I just made up…but once you try it, I think you will agree.
Added bonus, it will make your home smell better than any candle ever will.
It is super simple to throw together. I recommended letting it steep for while, but I have also thrown it together as friends are walking in the door, and served it up ten minutes later. It's still delicious!
Add your spices to your pot:
- 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp. nutmeg
- pinch of cloves (too much cloves or allspice will make it bitter)
- pinch of allspice
- 2 tbs. sugar The sugar optional, sometimes the apple juice is sweet enough! Taste as you go, and make it to your preference.
Add juice:
- 5 cups apple juice
- 2 cups of orange juice
Turn to medium heat and whisk. The cinnamon won't blend in until the cider is warm, it's stubborn like that!
Let it come to a boil, then lower heat and let simmer for 20+ minutes.
Drop in a handful of cranberries and sliced oranges for some extra "ooh la la".
Share with your friends, or hog to yourself. I don't judge.
